William Hornaday at Kelvin Cooperage showed us barrels that had held orange curaçao and then gin. They smelled like the powdered orange drink that went to space with the Mercury missions. We put 5.5- and 12-year Kentucky straight bourbons in them, and a month later it was ready.
The name nods to the road Kelvin Cooperage sits on, and to that orbit.
