Our first release, in April 2019. We tracked down more than 100 barrels of Kentucky straight bourbon, 5 to 11 years old, and tasted every sample we could get. Fourteen of the oldest went into ex-sherry rum barrels selected by Kelvin Cooperage. We tasted often and bottled at barrel proof once the finish was right, before it could take over.
Selected with bourbon writer Brian Haara, Owen Powell and Craig Rupprecht of the Louisville Bourbon Hounds, and William Hornaday of Kelvin Cooperage.
